Q: What's better than Bastille day, for a Frenchman?

A: 10th September (the official release date for Vacherin Mont d'Or A.O.P.)

We stock 2 sizes of vacherin, a 500g (pictured) and 2.7kg.

The cheese is made from the winter's milk used to make comte. Matured for 6 weeks in a circle of spruce bark, gives it an amazing aroma. It is delicious baked in the oven when young, served with charcuterie and potatoes or spooned out when ripe and runny.

The season usually finishes at the end of March, so plenty to time to indulge in one my favourites!
