Stinking Bishop is the famous cheese from Gloucestershire cows with a "remarkable" aroma.
Made by Charles Martell & Son in Dymock, the aroma comes from a Perry wash use on the rind.
The cheese itself is mild and creamy and the contrast with the sticky rind works wonderfully.
It is named after a mid-19th century local farmer: Frederick Bishop, known for his drunken temper and nicknamed Stinking Bishop.
Available in 500g (photo) and 2kg.
