Once again, we are very happy to announce the birth of another Scottish cheese.
Biggar blue is the creation of Selina Cairns (producer of Corra Linn at the H.J Errington Co.), a blue veined, unpasteurised goats' milk, suitable for vegetarians. Named after the borders town of Biggar near the creamery, the town has a goat as an emblem.
The taste is clean and sharp with strong but pleasant goaty notes. We will keep you posted on the taste as it matures and develops.
Let's hope Biggar blue enjoys the success of their other blue cheeses: Lanark blue and Dunsyre blue.
